Emozionario Ambientale®

Emozionario Ambientale® is a project aimed at environmental education based on a transdisciplinary approach that combines science, creativity, social innovation and education, with the aim of transforming the current narrative of the ecological crisis, dominated by fear, eco-anxiety and greenwashing, into a conscious and hopeful dialogue, aimed at triggering a change in behavior and collective action.

Imagined as an emotionally guided scientific dictionary, the Emozionario Ambientale® is unique in its kind: it collects 30 key words selected by a transdisciplinary Think Tank, and is created following a structure that includes
starting point: themes or keywords
participation: creative visualization of the themes
paradigm shift: measurement and data visualization of the results and solutions of the collective action

The value of the Emozionario Ambientale® also lies in its participatory nature: students from middle schools in the Puglia Region are called to contribute to the creative process, with visual and narrative interpretations of the key words. The best works will be integrated into the final prototype, making it a collective and dynamic tool.

The union between science, emotion and social impact makes Emozionario Ambientale® an innovative tool for public and private institutions and organizations that share the commitment to cultural and social change based on knowledge, participation and collective action.

Visual Identity

The collection of textures derived from photographs and microscopic images of
cells belonging to different types of living beings refers to two fundamental aspects
of the project:

The scientific images recall the importance of the scientific bases that contribute
to the contents of Emozionario Ambientale®

The evident similarity between images derived from different living beings reminds
us that man is an integral part of the Earth’s ecosystem: we are nature. This visual
metaphor aims to awaken people’s conscience and sensitivity, and to inspire an
active and conscious stance.

The Think Tank is coordinated by the scientific coordinators: Prof. Isabella Pisano (President of the University Center of Excellence for Sustainability of the University of Bari Aldo Moro) and Dr. Maria Teresa Salvati (President of Everything is Connected APS). The team includes: Paula Barbeito Morandeira (expert in ocean sustainability), Roberto Carlucci, PhD (full professor in Ecology), Nicoletta Guaragnella (associate professor of cellular and applied biology), Livia Augusta Mattoni (software developer), Pasquale Ricci (PhD in ecology), Valentina Rossi (marine biologist), Paolo Stufano (CNR-NANOTEC researcher), with the extraordinary participation of Federica Fragapane (information designer). The first prototype of the Emozionario Ambientale® was designed by Everything is Connected APS, produced in partnership with the University Center of Excellence for Sustainability of the University of Bari Aldo Moro, with the financial support of the Puglia Region, as part of the institutional regional communication initiatives.
